Create a collection of styles

A style collection is a group of styles united by some criteria. A collection must contain at least one style. For example, if styles are used together in the current report, you can combine them into one collection. Note that a report can contain collections of several styles. However, currently only one collection applies to the report.

You can create collections of styles using the following options:

Manually enter in the collection name style property.

Select the Create Style Collection command from the Actions menu, define the settings for future collections, and click the OK button. In this case the collection is automatically generated.

Note that both manually created style collections and automatically generated style collections may exist at the same time. You can also edit the collection of generated styles and all the styles within it, if desired.

Manually create a collection of styles

Step 1:Run Style Designer

Step 2: Create a style from the Add Style menu or open a previously saved file with the style.

Step 3:Fill the collection name property. The value of this property is the name of the future collection. For example, naming 5 styles Black creates a collection named Black in the list of elements in the style designer. These 5 styles are included. Keep the following points in mind when working with collections of styles:

Dragging a style from one collection to another changes the value of the collection name property.

Renaming a collection of styles changes the value of the Collection Name property of all styles in this collection.

To ensure that the style does not belong to a collection of styles, you should remove the value of the collection name property.

Step 4:Configure style conditions. Without conditions, when you apply a collection of styles to a report, the styles are applied in order from top to bottom. As a result, the last style in the collection is applied to the report. However, you can also change the style of a report component by selecting the report component in the report template and choosing the appropriate style from the style menu on the Home tab of the report designer.

Step 5: Set the style settings (brush, color, border, alignment, etc.).

Step 6:Click the OK button in the Style Designer.
