The Horizontal Spacing and Vertical Spacing properties allow you to set the spacing (horizontal and vertical respectively) between the edges of the legend and the information in the series. The full paths for these properties are Legend.HorizontalSpacing and Legend.VerticalSpacing. The diagram below shows the horizontal and vertical spacing between the edge of the legend and Series 1 with arrows.

These properties can take numeric values and are required for padding. Negative values for the Horizontal Spacing and Vertical Spacing properties can make the legend unreadable. The minimum value for these properties is 0.
