Map type

< 1 min read

Maps include with groups, heatmaps, and heatmaps with groups. The map type can be changed by selecting the Map Type parameter in the Map Editor on the Data tab.

none
In this case, the map will be filled with the base color regardless of the style or color value of each key. The map will remain divided by item.
group
In this case, it is necessary to enter data in the group column or specify the display of the data column in the group column. Each group of map elements is drawn with either the colormap style or the color defined for each entry.  However, if the map style has fewer colors than the number of groups of elements in the map, the colors can be repeated.
heat map
A heatmap graphically displays the values of map items. So you have to specify the value of the map item. Also, the style of the map should determine the colors of the heatmap. The reporting tool checks all items or values in a data column when creating a report. The engine determines the maximum value and assigns it the first color in the heatmap, and the minimum value gets the second color in the heatmap style. Then, for each value in the list, a shade of the value is created depending on how close the maximum or minimum value is. Shading is applied to map items.
Note: When using a heatmap, the map's groups and element values are not grouped.
If you want to display a heatmap with grouped values, you must specify the map type as heatmap with groups.

Heatmap by group
To group map elements and apply heatmaps to these groups, you must specify the map type as heatmap by group. In this case the map elements are grouped and then the heatmap is rendered. At the same time, you must either fill in the group field or specify the data column for the group field.
