Maps include with groups, heatmaps, and heatmaps with groups. The map type can be changed by selecting the Map Type parameter in the Map Editor on the Data tab.

Note: When using a heatmap, the map's groups and element values are not grouped. If you want to display a heatmap with grouped values, you must specify the map type as heatmap with groups.
To group map elements and apply heatmaps to these groups, you must specify the map type as heatmap by group. In this case the map elements are grouped and then the heatmap is rendered. At the same time, you must either fill in the group field or specify the data column for the group field.
