When rendering a grouped report, you may want to use multiple groupings (called "nesting") to get the desired output. For example, you can group your customers by region and then subgroup them alphabetically. Ideally, to create such a report, place the required number of group header bands before the data band and the same number of group footer bands immediately after the data band.
Although it is possible to exclude unwanted group footers, it is recommended that you always place the same number of bands in the group header and group footer in your report to avoid unexpected results. If the number of group footer bands is greater than the number of group header bands, the outer bands are used and the inner bands are ignored. If the number of group footer bands is less than the number of group header bands, the group header bands located closer to the data band will be output without a footer.
important:The number of bands for Group Header and Group Footer in the report should be the same.
You must specify the grouping criteria for each group header band. When rendering the report, the group header bands are processed from top to bottom as they appear on the page. When placing the group footer band on the report page, keep in mind that the last group footer band is always associated with the first group header band.
